Auditions Are Open!

We currently have an open audition for Bubblegum Crisis over on our auditions page. http://forwardmomentumproductions.com/?page_id=6

These are primarily smaller roles, but they’re a great way for someone new to voice acting to get their feet wet. Head on over and check it out. New people are always welcome!

Warning: Hull Breach in Progress

This is the moment when, in an episode of Star Trek, they play dramatic music and the actors start lurching around in unison.

It has come to my attention that the first three episodes of Knights of the Old Republic: Outcasts have mysteriously vanished.

(Insert dramatic musical sting HERE)

I wish I could tell you what happened, but the simple fact is I have no idea. The first five episodes of the show aren’t part of the Forward Momentum Feed. At their time of release, we didn’t have permanent internet digs like we do now. So the extremely awesome and kind folks at Star Wars Fanworks let us crash on their cyber-couch.

The fact is though, I’ve always felt vaguely guilty about the fact that our firstborn children aren’t a part of this site. They don’t call or write. They never come by so we can all sit down as a family and have dinner on Sunday night…. OK, this analogy is getting too weird.

The point being, I’ve always wanted to consolidate the whole thing into our feed, but I never got around to it. Now, I’m gonna take the Internet’s hint and finally post them here. In the next couple of days, you’ll see them drop into the feed at irregular intervals.

Thus concludes my long-winded explanation of why a seemingly incomplete series is book-ending our feed for a while.

… Re-routing power to Inertial Dampeners.

EDIT: All five episodes of Outcasts were just uploaded, and the appropriate webpages updated. We appreciate your patience.

2014… Our Five-Year Mission is Officially a Continuing One

LenaHSSmallFebruary 9, 2009.
That’s the date of the first post on this website. We’ve been around longer than that of course, but this is our concrete date of birth, if you will. The day we can point to and say “Yep, we started HERE.”
Over the last half a decade, we’ve tried to bring you a lot of fun journeys into the mindspace realm of audio drama, and although we’ve made fewer trips than we’d have liked, we still have big things planned for the future.
Like what, you ask?
Bubblegum Crisis: Tinsel City Blues for one. The second chapter in the Bubblegum Crisis audio drama is just about ready to drop, with lots more to come.
But that’s not all. We’ve got a fascinating short almost ready to come off the stove as well. Don’t want to give away too many details just yet, but it’ll launch a new imprint: “FMP PRESENTS” will feature individual short stories written by myself and others. Presents will include both fan audio as well as original work, each episode running about twenty minutes or so. If you’d like to contribute a story, details will be forthcoming.
And that’s STILL not all we’ve got in the works.
We’re also going back to our roots for a special series of stories in old, familiar stomping grounds.
… and a very special old friend may be making a comeback.
What? You want MORE? Sorry Internet, spoilers.
Now, if you;’ll excuse me, *cracks knuckles* time to make the doughnuts…

FMP is going NaNo!

NaNoWriMo that is.

nonowrimologoFor those who have no idea what that odd looking word is, NaNoWriMo is a syllabic acronym for National Novel Writing Month. The goal is to sit down and write a 50,000 word manuscript in one month. It’s not a competition with anyone but yourself. The goal is to motivate all the folks out there who always WANTED to write, but never did for one reason or another.

But Dev, you ask, do you even write books?

Never fear, faithful Internet! I have a cunning plan.

Vader_Thumbs_UpSee, only people who write non-fiction set out to write books per se. Fiction is a story, put simply. Formats change depending on the media, yes. But at their cores all fiction writers are story tellers. As such, I don’t think it’s that big a fudge if I write scripts for future production. After all, the first three arcs of BGC (the one we released this summer and the two currently in production) total about 65,000 words (sans credits) so I say…. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.

The best part, you get to follow the madness as I transform into a word-count obsessed, fiction production MACHINE. I’ll post weekly recaps here, but if you want to see the gibbering insanity on a daily basis, keep an eye on my twitter feed @devincx .

The goal is 50k words by the end of November. Can I do it?

Darn skippy I can! FMP doesn’t march on the future, we CHARGE IT!
